Can't browse or ping these two. Is this from last night?  Most other URL's are OK.

Something is awry with Google. Sites which use Google Analyticals may be affected. Sky.com is fine for me.

It should be OK, Zap. Can you try a tracert to Google?

James was just remotely accessing the sites via your router and all was well. ;)

I'll know who to blame if I exceed my bandwidth allowance this month then ;D

As a matter of interest do you know what the problem was? IE8 was producing a page I've not seen before suggesting that the URLs were incorrectly entered.

Google's nameservers appear to have gone down, it was affecting other ISPs too. That would take out YouTube, but not the BBC. If the BBC use Google Analyticals, though, that could have had the same effect.

Interesting, thanks for the info. It was my daughter who alerted me to the BBC site not being available and to the problem in the first place so I can only guess at which murky part of the BBC website she was viewing  ;D

Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

Thanks, Gary, I did wonder. We took them off here for just that reason.
