Sent support an email today, regarding the removal of Interleaving from my line due to the effects it has on my online gaming. I used my IDNet email address, which I have never sent and email from in the entire 2 years+ I've been with the company It's no small coincidence then that I receive a spam email to the account (first one ever) just 20 minutes after I emailed support offering me a subscription to some cr*ppy online casino type games service. Coincidence they used the exact first part of my IDNet email address as my name is it not?

I do hope there's not some clown working in your support department who thinks because its Friday, last shift of the week, that he can piss about with my personal information instead of doing the job hes paid for.

I would be surprised,by the way is idnet's spam filter enabled on that particular email account? I ask as as yet I've never had any spam through my idnet account in 18months.

I would also find that very suprising, I think you need to take it up with them directly. I've also never had a spam mail sent on my IDNet account.

Just to clarify, it's not 'our' support department - this forum is not run by IDNet staff.

As has been said, you need to contact them directly about this, and I would certainly do so if it were me, although, I would find it very hard to believe that this was a malicious act, or in any way deliberate, on IDNet's part.

He means IDNet staff. :)

He did indeed, and he's now edited his post.  :)

Maybe I jumped the gun considering the reputation they have however, its the content of the spam and how closely it ties in with my request to support plus the way I was addressed in the mailing, clearly they lifted the name straight off my IDNET addy... is it possible they got hold of a virtually unused email address some other way?

I guess I'm a little touchy also, I want my connection the way it used to be  :( with any luck they'll take this interleave cr*p off when they come back on Monday.

And swear too. :thumb: Is it really necessary. :dunno:
Just ask in a polite manner, you'll probably get more respect and answers that way. :thumb:
Thanks
