This Thursday (the 30th) onwards will be 'interesting' as it's when the Ashes resumes, the third test at Edgbaston.

As requested earlier, this is my ping/trace into idnet now, with interleaving on. Below is how it was when I was with Idnet, as you can see the difference is pretty significant!

It is, isn't it. :( Thanks for that.  :thumb:

To the untrained eye here it looks like there is a problem with IDNet's network at Telehouse, coupled with a 4% packet loss at the first node. The graphic below shows the rates I can achieve (best case) and how bad it can be (worst case). All over the period of half a minute  :eek4:

I have submitted a ticket. Guess I'll wait and see.

Yours was one of the cases I forwarded to support about an hour ago, JB. Have you seen no improvement? (ie when was that tracert?)

Hi All

Sometimes BT send more connections to us down some pipes than others, which therefore become congested. We then have to manually move customers across to other pipes in order to get the traffic loads on the Centrals properly balanced again. We have enough aggregated bandwidth capacity to cope with normal loads and so once we can get back to regular levels things should improve.

Regards
Simon

Thanks, Simon. :)

Rik

I bet you are not a little relieved that Simon has provided an explanation of the possible culprit, hopefully things will get sorted soon :fingers:

Glenn

Just to add another graph to the collection, I have been getting a spike approximately every 35 - 40 seconds

Glenn that graph is of particular interest to me. I don't suppose you have another PC/Laptop that you can use to see if you get the same regular pulse?

With a pulse rate that low, I'd be reaching for the defibrillator. ;D
