last week I unlocked my spare sky router Netgear 835GV3.
all was fine, but as the connection didnt happen friday I'd not tested it live. decided to test it just now, but.... it comes up the orange adsl light flashes, it stops then the router resets itself. I tried resetting it via the recovery utility, which does run completely, but it goes back to constantly resetting immediately.

I have another I can unlock once connection is complete, but I need it until then.

If you truly believe you need to pick a mobile phone that 'says something' about your personality, don't bother. You don't have a personality. A mental illness, maybe - but not a personality

Steve

Which netgear firmware version did you unlock it with?

I presume you've got  a sky 934g which is a dg834gv3

There's an 04 and 40 listed for the v3 I was going suggest can you either trying  upgrading the 04 or downgrading the 40 I am just wondering though as I don't know whether the unlocked ones work with sky but from your post it sounds like its failing to sync. There are some odd ways of completely resetting netgear routers http://vpncasestudy.com/reset.html

You could also try a factory reset of the settings. I think it's under Diagnostics.

trouble is I cant actuall get into the router, to do a reset. it wont sync as I'm not been activated yet on idnet. But it boots up flashes orange, stops, then the entire router reboots. it then comes up flashes orange (pc states network cable unplugged in between). stops and reboots again. I suspect it's pretty bricked

It should sync, regardless of the IDNet connection. It just won't establish PPP.

Also, you should be able to access the web interface regardless of sync.

Steve

Have you tried the paper clip in the back
