Updated on line to Kaspersky security suite 2010 today but it will not let me run the firewall. Thats not such a problem as I use the one on my router but it worked OK on 2009. The only thing I can think of is the fact that Vista on this machine rejects the SP2 update and maybe Kaspersky 2010 requires it.  :dunno:

Did you do an install over the top? 2010 is a bit buggy but does not require SP2. I tried it and for me it slowed down surfing, and has a memory leak as well that Kaspersky are aware of, they are working on critical fix 1 which is in beta, the best way to upgrade is to do a clean install even though it says you can update over the top the recommendation is to not do that. For now I'm sticking with the last version till they get the issues sorted out, also the PDM module is a little bit keylogger happy reporting kernal patches with no pid, so I would hold off myself, Just my view. 2010 uses the same engine as the 2009 version, also there is a constant rootkit scan in the background that slows some computers to a crawl, this can not be turned off or scheduled, you will see the K pulsing when it does it, the forum has people with similar issues like Nod version 4 it seems it was rushed a bit and scans take a lot lot longer which is a step backwards really.

I haven't updated our Windows machines yet - I like 2009 and think I'll hang on for a while.

I would stay with it Sebby untill 2010 is fixed, even though its a release it feels like a beta and many people have gone back  :sigh: crank another notch in the death of the PC and a plus for a mac

Just uninstalled 2010 and reinstalled from scratch and all seems OK now. Must admit I like the feel of it (and Kaspersky isn't bad either)  ;D

Good luck with it, Den.  :)

Did you ever use 2009, Den? I'm interested to hear how it compares. I haven't bothered to update our Windows machines as 2009 is running so nicely.

Yes it was 2009 I uninstalled. 2010 seems to run very smoothly and I like the interface. Programs such as Outlook 2007 seem to operate faster but it's early days yet.

MAIN KNOWN ISSUES
If a threat in OLE object is detected, the application does not suggest user to perform disinfection. Possible actions in this case – place file to quarantine or delete it.
Web Anti-Virus does not notify user about the downloaded files.
Problems with display of some files in special defragmentation software - PageDefrag are possible.
In some cases the "^" key on the virtual keyboard stays pressed. To solve this problem, right-click this key with a mouse.
Complex filtering works incorrectly in some report windows.
When the option of logging file system events to application report is enabled, noticeable slowdowns are possible during installation, if Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 is being installed over the previous version.
During Kaspersky Anti-Virus uninstallation registry keys linked to shell extension are not removed.

Still to many issues with it and it not detecting things for my liking the first version had to be updated as it missed loads of malware the old version found  ::), its buggy and rushed just as Nod V 4 was its all about getting next years product out not making a product work.  :shake: I am thinking about moving away from it completely.
