WBC - HELP NEEDED

IDNet need your help.

If you've moved to WBC and your throughput is consistently 4-5Mbps below your profile, could you please provide some BT speedtest results, by email, to support@idnet.net, with the subject line, WBC Throughput, and with your ADSL phone number or your IP address, to act as an identifier.

The speed issues have been escalated within BT, and IDNet need as much proof of the problem as possible.

I know Im migrating but still sent them over Rik it may help in some small way.. :fingers:

Mine is pants.. I've just done a test and was surprised at how bad it was.  694kbps.  Will do another in the morning and send them.

I don't think sending my line stats would be of much help as my profile is too low. 4-5Mbs below my profile would put me close to offline  :'(

In any case I've a strong suspicion I've been put on some sort of pseudo fix rate profile  :eyebrow:

Hard to say as my throughput has a colossal amount of variation. My profile is clearly stuck or more likely fixed at 6 Mbs as there has been no variation in either direction from day one. Here are the results from the last test I did:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 6950 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  1169 kbps(UP-STREAM)
    IP profile for your line is - 6000 kbps
    Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2112 kbps

If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.

IDNet would like to thank those who have responded to this request. Your issues have been added to their pile and they are working with the BT Operations Team responsible for WBC to resolve them. They will update you as soon as possible. This really is being handled at the highest possible level that they can push to within BT now.

I expect allowing 'Respond to ping on internet ports' would be what you're looking for?

Now would be a good time, Bob, just don't drop your firewall. Or, allow the pings in the morning, then let James in support know.

I'd suggest shutting them down again for the night, Bob, I'm not going to get hold of James again now. If you can turn them back on in the morning, and drop James an email, he'll want to be able to ping for a few hours.
