This should be so simple, but I've been struggling for a couple of hours....

I'm trying to ping my home router from my office.  I can't see anything in the router, either on the telnet CLI or web interface  (Draytek 2600 plus) that would stop me from doing this, but I'm getting request time outs all the time.   I can ping other IP addresses fine, so I know there's no block on ping requests leaving the office.

Does anyone know if the Draytek blocks pings from the WAN side by default an if so, how to enable icmp echo responses.

If the answer is as obvious as I think it should be then

a) please feel free take the P***
b) please make allowances - it's been a bad week trying to get TalkTalk BB setup at my parents (who wouldn't use BB enough to notice how bad TT is - or enough to pay for a proper ISP)

OK, feel free to take p***.

I think I've developed checkbox blindness - I finally found the "Disable pings from internet" checkbox. - why does that always happen just after you post a request for help  :)

It's Murphy's third law of forum dynamics. Don't worry mate, we've all done it. :)
