Thousands of gamers may have been cut off from Microsoft's online gaming service Xbox Live for modifying their consoles to play pirated games.

Online reports suggest that as many as 600,000 gamers may have been affected.

Seems fair enough to me! Unless, of course, it impacts on those people who male a backup of their discs so if it gets scratched it doesn't matter.

Games cost a hell of a lot to produce, I'm just coming to the end of Uncharted 2 amongst thieves and its been graphically stunning, and I really liked the characters and puzzles and game play running along the roof of a moving train was spectacular as you dodge overhead lights and people shooting at you, while jumping and hanging on for life, amazing game. So as Lance says, fair enough
Damned, if you do damned if you don't
