I've been having a strange problem since Windows update downloaded and installed a WGA update for Office 2007 a couple of days ago, now every time I open Outlook it pops up a dialog box telling me it's not activated, yet when try to activate the application it tells me it's already activated.  any ideas, I have no problem using the application I'm just finding this box annoying in that you have to click on the Remind me later button to get rid of it.  :dunno:

Strange one, Ray. I must admit I saw this update for our Vista PC yesterday and opted not to install it. That's the frustrating thing about MS - they cause legitimate users problems. What right do they have to continually force so-called updates upon users that have activated copies of Windows and Office?

Rik

Sounds like a call to MS, Ray. :(

I've seen this. I cured it by dumping the bloated MSO 2007 and installing OpenOffice. (MSO was from work anyway - legitimately, BTW - so it didn't actually cost me anything).

Well I've solved my Office 2007 problem by doing a restore from my WHS from the day before the update was installed so it would appear MS have issued a dodgy Office WGA update.  :shake:

Indeed, Rik, must make sure I don't reinstall it.  :)

Why, one wonders, do they keep fiddling with the WGA - I'm assuming it's because it's been cracked in some way.

Seems that way, Rik, it certainly gets updated on a regular basis.

Although this is the first update I've seen for OGA. I know, however, cracked versions are already available.

Because they love to mess things up for the genuine users!
