All being well I should have a Dell Macbook Mini 9 working at the weekend, just waiting for the ssd to arrive, so far I have the Dell mini 9, a retail OSX 10.5.6, 2Gb ram. All the instructions for loading OSX on to the Dell are at http://mydellmini.com/forum/ the Mini 9 being nearly 100% compatible.

Hopefully it will install as directed :fingers: I will be interested in how you feel it performs over the original OS on that machine. I have a netbook Advent 4211 which works very well with XP and I have thought about trying mac os x on it but the wireless adaptor is not fully supported(I can swap it I know) and I worry the fun will be in the install and not make much difference  thereafter in terms of a functional netbook.

Posting from a Dell Macbook Mini9 running 10.5.7  ;D

It took a little while to configure, I could have saved an hour or 2 if I didn't miss a step in the instructions

I always miss vital steps in instructions, mainly because I'm so excited to get it done!

It all works as far as I know Steve, there maybe an issue reading memory sticks so I have read, and the keyboard layout is US even though the language is set to British, but there is a kext file to fix that

I'm still learning my way around the Mac OS, like how do you minimise/hide the bar at the bottom of the screen, it takes up arounf 1/5th of the display?

Hi
just go to system preferences , dock and then you can auto hide or vary the size if you want to keep it in view.

It was to me not so long ago, Glenn, but I already feel quite comfortable using it. It takes some time - what I found is that you can't try and compare things to how it's done in Windows, because it's completely different. :)
