aRGhhhh, i've had enough of the constant resyncs when my phone ring's! :rant2:

This has been happening for over a year now, doesn't matter how many filters i try, including the filtered faceplate that idnet sent me, none of them work, the ring wire is not attached, my router is not at fault as i have had it tested at a friends house for over 48hrs, no problems there.

The only reason i haven't raised a ticket with support is that i can't afford to pay BT if they can't find a fault on the line!

There is a serious problem and it's not my equipment.

Where do i go from here ?!!! :wall:

You've already indicated where you have to go, I'm afraid. You've eliminated the filter (the most likely cause), you've eliminated the router, so you have to risk the BT visit (I appreciate that's easy for me to say...). If, however, it does it every time, and if you've tried a different phone so that none of your equipment is implicated, then it sounds like a line fault.

Yes i have eliminated the phone factor as i went out and bought a iDECT Q1i 1021, so my only option is to raise a ticket with simon.

Altough i must say that when i went to make a phone call one day when i picked the line up i could here a faint ringing on the line, crosstalk ?

You could try reporting this to BT as a voice fault - whatever you do, don't mention broadband.  Tell them that you hear other voices or a ringtone on the line.  If they do find a voice fault, there's a good chance fixing it will also fix the broadband fault.  If it doesn't, then your only recourse is to raise a ticket with Simon.

Ok thank's Tacitus i shall try BT.

What Tac said, 3D. BT regard crosstalk as a big thing and their standard 'first cure' is to swap the exchange pair, so tell them about hearing voices, don't mention ADSL and then sit back. ;)

Ok Rik, just a thought, just did the 17070 BT line test did ringback option and soon as i finished the ringback call by hanging up, what happened ?......yes thats right i had another resync.

Rik

At least that's a quick way to demonstrate the problem. ;) My own guess is you have a faulty joint between you and the exchange, but an engineer should easily find it and if the fault is replicable, he won't be able to do a 'no fault found'. :)
