I have the weirdest problem

I can load some pages no problem but others take forever especially Ebay.  My hubby's computer is loading fine so it's not my connection.

I ran a virus check and a trojan was found and quarantined so was wondering why only some pages are doing this.

What differences are there between the two machines, Lona, particularly in terms of OS/AV/browser and app setup?

OK

The other thing I forgot to mention is I got an update message from Adobe Flash player and installed the update.  I did read on google that there is a fake flash player update going the rounds and wonder if that could have a bearing on things

It could. Did you note what site you went to?

Was it only slowing down on secure sites, Lona?

Just found out it's not my pc. After doing a full system scan, system restore, Malwarebites and windows defender it's actually Ebay that's not working properly.

I went into the community forums and everybody is complaining of the same issue.

I could scream. I'm off to take a paracetemol.

I wonder why your husband's machine was OK? I hate computers. ;)

There's your answer. :out:

Lance

I agree Seb, the AVG antivirus isn't good at all.    ;)

I would replace it with Avast.

Dangerjunkie

Hi,

I would try running Malwarebytes Anti-malware and see if it turns up some nasty hiding...

Cheers,
Paul.

Lona

As you see above, I did all that. Ebay is back to normal today so all is well

As an aside - I'm guessing you are using Firefox and have the latest update, which gives the warning about Flashplayer. It's a new feature of FF which will start to warn of security problems with plugins, too. Adobe Flash is the first such plugin to receive this special treatment. Expect more to follow.

That's a really good feature for a browser to have. I wasn't aware it did that now. :thumb:
