Help I'm going to buy a Mac!

As a former owner of a rather large patch of meadow grass (hesitate to call it a lawn/garden, though I did landscape it), I can thoroughly recommend 'going concrete/paving'.

I've got some astro turf up in the roof. It's great for kneeling on when crawling under the low eaves/extension.

I notice it has small 'drain' holes in it, so I guess it can and should be hosed down occasionally.

Obviously, I've never tested the theory.

I have put up with with Windows as an OS, put it this way I bought an iPhone its brilliant, it does amazing things and no odd kern exec crashes or low memory features of my old Symbian or corrupt installs, therefore I spend less time fiing things and more time enjoying the time I use the few gadgets I have.

A friend of mine who has a MAC says he saw a kernel panic a couple of years ago, so I guess MACS aren't any more reliable than PCs. It's all hype really.

He's an expert on Anti virus software and reckons that you really need to have at least two on your PC 'just in case'. Then of course there's the anti-spyware. Best to have a couple of those as well, as 'Wintroll' over on 'Netters' says that Brand A didn't find the doodle-bug cookie and it caused him all sorts of grief....

Still he says that reinstalling Windows isn't really that big a deal as he usually only has to do it twice a year.

It really makes him laugh that MACs only have a one button mouse and no serial port!! I mean can you imagine that. And they say MAC are innovative. Sheesh, Microsoft have had two button mice for years.

Still, he got the PC from PC World's bargain bin - much cheaper than that over priced MAC rubbish and he feels so much happier being a Gates groupie than belonging to that snobby MAC cult.

There's a bloke with a MAC goes down the pub but whilst my mates can swap stories about the latest video cards and how easy it is to find drivers for the 'hitemandrun' game controller, all he can talk about is how he managed to finish his work early and spent more time with his wife doing other things. Loser.

All of that seems wrong. They now have 2 buttons or more on mice. And although they are susceptible to crashes too, there is not much of a virus scare on them. Also, windows is not that bad that you need 6 virus/spyware programs at once. (although a firewall/virus scanner and spyware scanner already add up to 3. I stick with just firewall on always, and the other two on a schedule)

Honestly, I believe that if you got a Mac, you wouldn't want to use the PC, so eventually you'd move everything over.
