Hi

I filled out a migration app today - for a broadband and phone package.

I also filled out the direct debit instructions.

I find it strange that I haven't recieved any information, though. All I have recieved by e-mail is the DD confirmation. When I'd finished doing the package thing, there was no info about what would happen now. Do I get an e-mail at some point saying "welcome, you are now an IDNetter"? How long is this likely to take, and is there any action I need to take regarding my current broadband and telephone packages?

Maybe this info is there, somewhere, but I didn't see it and am not a great one for having the patience to hunt around all the links (which is probably why I've ended up with a 1and1 package I didn't even know I was getting and paying more than double what I expected - mind you, they don't tell you what you have to pay until a few days after you've asked for it).

You should eventually get an email with confirmation of the date of transfer of your broadband from your current supplier plus your login details etc, what happens with the phone package I don't know but I am sure someone will.

Your current supplier will know your migrating as you will have requested a mac, probably best to read the terms and conditions just in case. As  understand it you must not cancel your broadband with your current supplier as that will only confuse BT and they then will discontinue the service rather than the migration which you require.

As for the receipt of any information, maybe give a support a call if you've not had anything by tomorrow morning. The orders are processed manually and once processed you should get an email with your broadband details in.

As soon as you have that, you are able to set up emails, webspace etc.

Okay, thanks. :karmic:

I'll just put up with the rubbish service I'm on, in the knowledge that salvation is near.  :fingers:

Don't panic Mr Mainwaring!  All will come out in the wash. Just chill out and let things take their course, it would be odd (very)  if they didn't :thumb:

Surprised you haven't received it yet.  My email with details arrived within a couple of hours and, another hour or so later I had my email setup.

As quandam said, don't panic, but if you haven't received it by tomorrow I would give support a call.

Well as the weekend is nigh, I'll wait until Monday.

I just had another look and the product page states that migrations take 5 working days. So a week from now now I should be in the gang.  :)

I would always allow up to 7 days  (including weekends) to come on board. :thumb:

As has been said, migrations usually go very smoothly, but there are occasional hiccups, usually not the fault of IDNet, so it certainly wouldn't do any harm to contact them, if you've not heard anything by, say, mid-morning.

Hmm, I received an e-mail, but am a bit mystified.

The e-mail relates to my "broadband upgrade" to adsl2+.  ???

Just found it strange that I get this, but nothing about migrating or the phone package etc. I'm actually already on the WBC platform, with my current provider, so there isn't any 'upgrade' for me, anyway.

But at least something is happening so I'll wait the quoted 5 days and see how it pans out. I don't like bothering service people when there isn't a problem yet.  ;)

Give them a call.  They won't mind at all.  :)

If you wait 5 days and nothing happens, it will be another 5 days before it will. I would give them. Ring an have a chat :)

:welc:

might be worth mentioning the refer a friend scheme Idnet do. Both parties involved get £10 off their bill as a one-off.
