phone problem

my wife has a samsung u600 and just about every one who calls her say they get an echo when speaking but my wife doesnt hear it on the samsung phone.it gets quite annoying sometimes. any ideas

I'm no expert, but I had the same problem when calling from a motorway service station recently, it was explained to me that the signal was coming from 2 repeaters with a slight delay, and as such creating an echo effect, this may explain it, but as for a cure,

I should pay a visit to a phone shop for advice , there may be a setting on the phone to stop it.

thanks Talos.what do you mean by repeaters.what would the setting be classed as.....something to do with echo problem itself or other, cant think what it could be.

I think it depends on the location of one or other phone (signal quality), and also cross network calls can echo slightly. Does Mrs Baz usually call people from home? If you're in a poor signal area, this could explain it, and I don't think there will be a setting on the phone to rectify it, as why would you ever want 'echo' turned on?

it seems to happen where ever Mrs Baz

( Tanya) calls from. at home it can be poor reception on occasions, T Mobile, same as me but others are cross networks.

I revert to texts but not good for long conversations

By repeaters I mean towers, apparently the service station had an antenna and so did the nearby junction and I was sending my signal by both, I never had it happen again but I live in the sticks, and the repeater towers are very sparse. As for adjustments, there may be a setting to restrict the phone from logging onto more than one at a time, but this is only a guess, there was a power setting on the older phones but I think this is handled automatically now.

having the ear piece volume up to high can cause that issue as well.

Just a thought I have an LG and this happens if I leave the call divert on it may be worth checking your phones settings Baz Good luck
