Just posted this over the way ....

Just received 4 emails from Ebay (All Blank on screen).
But .... OE/File/Properties/Details ... show the messages OK.
What have I done pls???

NB: Mozilla thunderbird (which I've just d/l works ok)
Baffled, obviously louse up on OE but what??

Burned a bit of the midnight oil.
Mozilla thunderbird decided to exhibit the same fault after an hour or so.
Solved prob now by disabling email check in avg 7.5 tho. why avg is playing up is beyond me.

I don't use AVG, but does the email contain graphics? Possibly, it might see that as a potential threat. Digitally-signed mail can also cause problems with some clients.

watch out for ebay email scams

do not reply to emails from ebay, as They never request reply's

usually, spam ebay messages have a link which is wrote something.ebay.com (which actually goes it im-a-twonk.somenetwork.somewhere.com/net/org etc) which looks like ebay, but isnt...!

Tks for your replies folks.
All settled down now whilst avg mail checker remains disabled.
Apparently there's been a fair bit of aggro with OE exhibiting blank pages (been googling) and a fair few 'Remedies' which don't work.
Suffice to say that the last 'upgrade from avg' has not done me any favours.
Tks Avenger for info re. ebay and rik for graphics in email etc.

I use AVG and OE without any problems.

The Blank eMails are probably spam that has gone wrong, according to reports on other forums.

have tried a few times over the last 24 hrs sending emails to myself with avg email scanner switched on.
Blank page every time I'm afraid. Loathe to reinstall OE so am leaving avg mail scan off pro-tem.

You might want to look at an alternative client, such as Thunderbird?

I have just re-installed AVG, both the anti-spy and the anti-virus on a new (to me) computer.
Having read your post I sent an email to myself (using OE) which arrived in less than 5secs!  It bore the AVG seal of approval, as did others I received this morning.

Mate of mine (locally) has had OE playing up since the last update of AVG.  I'll kick things around a little longer but, after reading a few web posts, I feel I'm on a losing wicket here.
I also note that Kitty' OE is exhibiting probs. 
I filled up @ tesco a few days ago, perhaps I've contaminated something.
