Does IDnet's SMTP server add a message?

Hi Guys

Emails I send out through IDnet's SMTP server appear to be arriving at the other end with a 'Click here to report this email as spam' (linking to mailcontrol.com/.......) splashed all over the top.

I thought that it was the receiving system that add this (when I have tested sending it to my other email address) but I'm not sure that is the case.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris, I'm pretty baffled by that. Perhaps someone else will be able to shed some light.

Simon

I've sent emails to myself on several occasions, and there's never been an inserted footer.

Definitely not something being done by IDNet, it sounds like a spam trap at the recipient's end. What happens if you send to yourself (PM me if you want my email addy to test on).

Thanks guys, I didn't think it would be IDNet doing it but had to be sure.

Its either the server at my work that forwards incoming mail to Gmail, or Gmail that adds it before I get it via IMAP

Lance

We use mailcontrol at work and our receiving server adds that message.

I think that probably clarifies the issue, Lance.  :)
