We think there was a big backup going on, when it was a bit sluggish earlier, but it seems OK to me now.

I have noticed a few times over the past 24 hours that the server is occasionally slow to respond which is very usual.

Perhaps it might help to know that we share the server with at least two others. One is Simon's PC Pals forum, the other is Orange Bikes. It's my belief that the latter run very intensive operations from time to time which knock on to us. The only other time you should see any slowness is when the backup is run at around 6am.
