As long as I've been around computers, and especially since the late 80s, I've watched platform wars on all the forums I've been involved in.

Ultimately, we are choosing a machine when we choose a computer, no different to choosing a particular make or model of car, or a particular brand of TV or hifi. For each of us, the choice will be made on the basis of what we like, what suits our needs, what we can afford etc.

I've recently bought some very expensive lenses (but not yet got Sue to let me go for the ultra-expensive ones ). That doesn't mean that I'll take better pictures than anyone else, just that the lens suits my specific needs.

So, can we back off the personal arguments on Windows versions and Windows vs Mac, guys. We're all different, we all have our own likes and dislikes, and no-one of us is right to say one thing is better than another - they're just different.

Thanks.

Platform wars?  On Netters?  Did I miss something?

Apart from the 'I'm going to buy a Mac' thread, I've not noticed anything resembling a 'platform war'.  I've always felt the Mac/PC stuff was pretty civilised on here.

Now if you want to talk about the merits of Nikon and Leica lenses versus the rest.....

There is no vs where DR is concerned.  ;D

I agree though, it' about personal preference, and we shouldn't be falling out over it.  ;)
