I tried shades on my other iMac, it works well but mucks up the colour calibration I found.

That's not normally a great concern to me, but the Mac is sited in a position where ambient light can vary quite a lot over the day. So ease of changing the brightness takes precedence!

Thats annoying, like having your TV overwelmed by light in the day, if you game thats really a pain, so you have to keep adjusting the brightness, the sensors on TV's tend to be a pain as they dim to much at night so I always turn them off.

Parallels 6 for Desktop v 6.0.12092 just released. Essential if you have upgraded to Mac OS X v 10.6.8. I spent this morning trying to resolve issues with 100% constant CPU, no menu bar and Safari 5 crashes. The problem appears to be Parallels 6 incompatibility with the precursor OS upgrade to Mac OS lion. Other programmes also have issues with 10.6.8 as reported in Apple Discussions. Not a good week for Apple coming after the Final Cut Pro X PR debacle.

Some peoples 10.6.8 issues seem machine related as well, I guess Apple concentrate like any manufacture on their own ends, how many times has MS service packs broken programs... As to Final Cut pro...never be the first to update a new program, that goes without saying for all manufacturers, I wont be in a hurry to update to Lion...

iWeb and iDVD out as well , expensive month potentially for downloads. I was thinking that these releases were a prelude to OS X Lion release later this week, however Apple has only just asked for submissions to App Store for OS X Lion compatible software. There are two hardware updates this week I'd be surprised if they didn't come with Lion though.

I think they're more likely to come with SL and the free upgrade.

I'm holding off Lion for a while to see what happens to others, by all accounts its very stable but a few point updates never hurt. Also servers are going to groan under the weight on release day. Bleeding edge just is to painful these days.

Just 5.0.1 here. 3.6 being phased out in August possibly for the people sticking with it thus far.
