iTunes 11.0.1 and Raw compatibility update 4.0.3 released.

Bug fixes in iTunes 11.0.1 : This update to the new iTunes addresses an issue where new purchases in iCloud may not appear in your library if iTunes Match is turned on, makes iTunes more responsive when searching a large library, fixes a problem where the AirPlay button may not appear as expected, and adds the ability to display duplicate items within your library.

Does it stop it sucking, and having to restart it to get back to the main page NOT the main store page?

Sweet, it does! Clicking the library button now returns me to the main menu. Before you clicked it and nothing happened. The preview panel works now too, whereas before it just opened an empty bubble.

Never had those problems on my OS X version those issues you had never occurred for me, maybe it was a bad install?

It will open on the last 'page' it closed at, so if you want it to open on your Albums page, make sure it's on that page when you close it or shut down the PC.

That's not how it works for me. It opens on the app page, no matter what I'm doing when I close it

May be OS-version specific, it's saying my Snow Leopard is up to date with 11.6.602.171 installed.

Or maybe Adobe's "Check for Updates" in SysPrefs hasn't caught up yet

Its only just come out, the auto update can take a few days sometimes to get the new version, I just downloaded and installed from Adobes site if I see its been updated, 11.6.602.800 is the latest for OS X as of this morning. Better to play safe with Flash.

I wouldn't argue with that in general, but I cba'd.

I run an adblocker in Safari and only use Flash for ClassicFM's internet radio player.

If it wasn't for that I'd ditch it.

I run an adblocker too but since the last flash player exploit was cross platform and could get OS X as easily as windows with no use interaction I always update in a timely manner, it only takes a couple of minutes to update but could take seconds to get hit by a nasty security hole

I hate flash.

Installed it (via the update) about half an hour ago, it seems to have broken the ClassicFM player for that stream and dented it a bit for the other streams I listen to (very slow to start and exit).

Good old Adobe

ClasscFM playing ok here, Bill. Did you reboot after? It shouldn't need it but it helps.

Well a reboot didn't fix it... so I cleared history, caches, cookies etc, that didn't work either.

So I've uninstalled it. I'll see how I get on without it, it may or may not get re-installed in due course

Did you use the uninstaller from Adobe? That gets most of it. A reinstall may help, tbh come 10.9 I'm not using Flash anymore, sick of ll the updates and vulnerabilities.

Yes, I used the one from Adobe, manually deleted the other folders as indicated and re-booted again just for luck.

I can use iPlayer for the BBC stations I listen to, and a DAB radio that's got just about acceptable reception for ClassicFM.

tbh I'm getting a bit bored with them, their playlist is a bit conservative compared to BBC3... not unreasonably for a commercial station I suppose.

Most speedtests won't run of course, but that's no great loss

At least the BBC are not using Real Player anymore

On the flash front no issues with iPlayer or youtube Adobe have changed their installer yet again as well, its slower than the old one.

I've just updated Flash on the MacBook- exactly the same symptoms. Clearly there's something I use (and that you don't) that doesn't like ClassicFM

Whatever it is, I'll have more reason for keeping it than keeping Flash so it can stay uninstalled (on the iMac). I'll leave it on the MacBook, then I can still run speedtests if I really need to.

I've re-jigged the audio side of things so the DAB radio goes into the iMac's "Line in", from there I can use Airfoil to stream it around the various Airplay speakers I've got. Slightly less convenient (I have to use the iMac, can't do it from the MacBook), but well outweighed by having a Flash-free computer

It may be Safari, I tend to use Firefox more, Safari is long over due for an update, last time was November for me with 10.8.2 and I have seen threads about issues with Flash on the Apple forums. Only other ting is have you disabled the adblocker for Classic FM? Stranger things have been known. I have mine turned off for BBC website and associated iPlayer in case of conflicts.

No I haven't, but it's a very good idea! I'll try it next time I fire up the MacBook.

It was OK before the update, but I'd noticed that musicradio now detect when you connect to the ClassicFM stream and immediately play an ad for some bloody car insurance company... which guarantees they won't get my custom

It tells you to click the banner for more info (fat chance), but of course I don't get the banner. Have you had that?

Well that didn't work either... but you could be right, Safari may be at least part of the problem. I'm still on OS X10.6.8 (Safari 5.1.7), which may not help.

I noticed that when it decides to be very slow on disconnecting it sometimes wipes all the other tabs and the associated contents of the address bar, and you have to reload them from bookmarks or whatever.

No matter, I've decided that I can live without Flash.

No banner here, Bill. Firefox 19.0.2 with adblockplus enabled and no issues. Also no issues with Safari 6.0.2

Dont blame you about flash but I use youtube and there are still to many videos that wont run using HTML5 and when they do its actually more clunky that flash
