Nope it will come out when the new iPhone comes out probably a week from todays iPhone 6 etc announcement when that happens. Looks like the iPhone 6 will have the same amount of ram as my iPhone 5s so far, no incentive to update at all till next year tbh. iOS 8... ill wait a few days to see what goes wrong

Don't update your iPhone 6 with this, you will lose Touch ID and your phone won't connect to your mobile carrier. I along with many others have this problem.

Have you tried a hard reset? No issue on the 5S or iPad 4

Can't find any confirmation that the update will address issues with the 4S.

iOS 8 had a ton of security fixes overr iOS 7 too. $:-\$ I think some people are using it, you probably wnt find a fix till 8.1 like with the 4 and 7.1. Massive cock up with the iPhone 6 though with this update

Often, a hard reset sorts these things out, but nobody seems to have said that it does. $:-\$

I wonder if it makes a difference whether you upgrade OTA, or through iTunes? I think it's more of a complete reinstallation if you do it through iTunes, rather than just a hole plug if you do it over the air.

As you say with iTunes if you wish you can do a complete re install after a factory reset and then restore your backup.

It appears that option-clicking on an iOS 8 file in iTunes will allow users to fix the issue without a restore. iMore has outlined the process:

1. Download iOS 8 for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus
2. Option (Mac) or Control (Windows) click on Update.
3. Choose the iOS 8 firmware file you downloaded in step 1.
4. Let iTunes do its thing

Sorry chaps had to go out for a bit, tried a hard reset a few times no joy. The update has now been pulled.

I'm just in the process of downgrading to iOS8.0 via the iMore process, wish me luck

Indeed, I guess I'm getting old fashioned, put Yosemite on the MB Pro- not sure I like these flat icons. The OS is ok except my hardware is now too old to use handoffs. Sadly my Apple hardware that I purchased between 4- 6 years ago is still going strong and is showing very little signs of needing replacement yet.

I think they're designed to be viewed on a Retina, or other very hi res screen. Quite why Ive used the thin looking Helvetica Neue rather than Lucida with its more solid look I shall never know. But perhaps that's why I don't own a fleet of expensive cars or a Gulfstream jet.....

The real disappointment to me is that they dropped the 4-core i7 option in the new Mini. Combine that with a decent PCI-e SSD drive and 16Gb or ram and it would make a nice machine for some light video editing. I know they're trying to drive people to the iMac, but hi-res screen or not I really, really, can't stand the reflections. It's bad enough on the MacBook but at least with that I have more options for moving it around.
