When you use this extension I wondered apart from the easy list subscription, how many people use the EasyPrivacy sub as well, its designed to stop web bugs and tracking servers. If you do has any one had issues, I have never used this extension before, it works well though. I used to use admuncher but now need to use this on Firefox since I changed from windows.

Sorry Gary, I don't use either.

Hmm the imported block list is really useful and is updated every 5 days I just needed to know about the privacy one as AdMuncher used to bock web bugs, cheers any way Simon  :thumb:

I don't use it myself, Gary, but that's not for a particular reason.

Default settings? What as in download the self updating list and thats that? That works fine but I guess most people don't know there is a EasyPrivacy subscription as well then  :dunno:

I use this with the easy list too. It's very good. I might look into the other lists too as I'm starting to see new and improved ways of annoying me with adverts. If I see another fake messenger pop up for dating sites, I think I'll go nuts.

Does the privacy list cause any issues Niall? Just wanted someone's take on it  :)

I've found a problem with the Easylist, Gary, it seems to block Flash movies on certain sites.

Not come across that yet with easy list, if it does block them you can report them and it will get changed, was that with the easyPrivacy list? Or just the normal one, all this "easy" is getting confusing  ;D

It was just the Easylist, Gary, I've just tried the site with Easyprivacy enabled and that doesn't block the flash.

You have to use Both Ray, ill add the Easy Privacy, if you have issues with the easy list email the sites that flash is blocked on to them, have you got one I could test?

Niall, If it helps you can block pop-up windows in FireFox settings. Go to Tools > Options > Content and make sure "Block Pop-up Windows" is checked. I have not seen a pop-up in years since I made sure to check this. You just get a notification that it has been blocked at the top of the browser window.

See what you mean, I just disabled ABP for that page so it will always play on that page/site and then it plays, I would email the issue to the gmail address in easy list and they will fix it I'm sure  :)

Confirm what Gary says. I disabled ABP and it works, the first time I have ever come across this

Sadly it doesn't work all the time. Some sites seem to have a crafty way of avoiding pop up blockers and anti ad software. I even blocked a sites url to stop anything remotely related to it, in adblock and on my router, and still got the bloody advert! Sometimes they seem to be randomly generated from various sources. I suppose if I sat there refreshing the sites it happens on and looked at the source each time I'd eventually get all of them, but that's way too much trouble. I think I'll just stop using sites that employ cr*p methods of money making.

Update had a response to my email today, and the issue has now been fixed with an updated Easylist, the flash movies now work on the site.  :thumb:
