By chance today I was sent an email to my idnet.com address as well as a hotmail address.
I had the hotmail one delivered, but I got a postmaster reply saying "Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full)" at idnet.com.

But I didn't have many emails,  so I deleted all my mail visible in my inbox... And resent the email again.

I'm on Safari 4.0.3 and it's still rejecting any incoming mail.

Any ideas why and where I can find the mail to deleate?

Simon

Hi Myles, and  :welc:  :karma:

Have you checked your email account via webmail?  You might find the Junk folder is full, or something like that.

Thanks for the welcome.

Checking via the webmail is the only way I've ever done it.
The junk mail is empty. I removed most of the stuff in the other folders - the disk usage is a 1%!!! And yet still the same message...

I think this may be a job for IDNet, and unfortunately, as is always the way, Support are now closed for the weekend.  There was an email server upgrade last Friday, and I suppose it's possible something may have gone wrong with your account.  Only other thing I can suggest is that you try setting up another email account (with IDNet), and see if the same thing happens.  If not, I believe you can delete an email account, and start again, but I'm not sure how soon the address will become available again.  If you don't need to use the account, it might be best to wait till Monday and talk to IDNet.

I don't think you am delete an account with a view of ever reusing it.

Just out of interest, how big is the email? Has it got lots of attachments?

I deleted an account by mistake once, and James had to reinstate it manually for me.

Simon

Ah, so you can't, but it can be done.  :)

In time, email addresses are repatriated, ie released for re-use.
