ADSL24 user here

Hi everyone,

About a year ago I moved over from Tiscali to ADSL24 because I was sick of Tiscali traffic shaping peer 2 peer applications. Recently I received an email from ADSL24 saying they are introducing a similar system, and sure enough today it has hit my connection. No through-put on p2p apps, so once again I find myself searching for a new ISP.

IDNet and Fast have both been recommended to me as the best choices.

What I need to know is if there is any protocol blocking/traffic shaping used on IDNet, and more importantly, if there isn't, are there any plans to introduce it in the future? I really want to find a ISP which will allow me to do whatever I want, and not change their policy 12 months down the road!!

Obviously, we don't have crystal balls

but IDNet do not currently port throttle or traffic shape, and we have no reason to believe that they have any intention of introducing any such features in the future.

Welcome to the forum.

I can only repeat what Simon has said. At present there are no plans to introduce port blocking etc and it wouldn't make sense within the Idnet business model for it to be introduced either.

Hi Klipp and welcome to the forum.

As the others have said, IDNet do not throttle, have never throttled and don't, to my knowledge have plans to throttle, it would go completely against their ethos to do so, so I don't believe that policy will change.

First Impressions are very positive!!

ADSL24 mysteriously cut my upload sync dropping from 900kb/s down to 448kb/s and blamed it on my router. IDNet has my upload syncing at 900kb/s again!!

I feel like I've got my internet back.
