I've ordered an HP Mini (netbook) with Windows 7.

QVC had a 250GB HD version as the TSV yesterday, and I couldn't resist the combination of the LED/LCD display, the extra HD space and HP's instant web, which boots the machine in about 5 seconds into what I suspect is Linux.

However, as it comes with Win7, all tips on 'adjusting' from XP gratefully received...

You had me worried there for a minute. I thought you were going to say you'd bought a Mac!

Glenn

Wouldn't it have been easier to to put Windows 7 on the Samsung?

I like they way they include a "Recovery CD/DVD Creation tool" on a netbook with no CD/DVD drive

Rik you will find windows 7 easier to use than XP once you've used it for a few hours.

kinmel

I take it you chose the "Pink Chic"  colour option  ;D

Well, Gary, as I have a Mac as well, I'm strictly neutral nowadays.  ;)

Have you tried Win 7 yet?

Yes I have, my friend gave me her laptop to "mend" over the weekend it needed reinstalling, she is awful with any pc like equipment, its pretty good, lower ram usage, don't like the new taskbar, very OSX like but not done so well. I'm not keen personally on Live mail mail either.

Its a lot like Vista with some tweaks and far less in your face with UAC, which never really bothered me anyway. At least you can use 7 on smaller machines with better power usage now. I still prefer on a day to day basis the iMac but there is nothing wrong with Windows 7 at all, but its more an evolutionary step than providing anything new, a lot like Snow Leopard really, but since that is new to me it feels very different. I guess I just like OSX over Windows now, but I would happily use a windows 7 machine, but I would miss quite a few OSX features now.

In the end it all depends on your needs. I don't miss windows explorer though  ;)

Will do. Unless I can see a specific benefit, it will go back, one of the useful things about QVC. :)
