Activation time

Indet say I should be active from 18.00 today. I am still connected to o2 at present, does this stop and then I try my idnet account or will they both still work. I am not sure when to try my idnet account.

Rick, you could put your IDNet details in to your router and see if it connects.

If you have migrated to the ADSL2 product they will both still work until your old ISP decides to remove your ability to log in.

I am a day or two ahead of you and I asked this very question of support and that is what they told me.

After a BT-related hitch which was causing my router to disconnect and reconnect every 70 seconds I am now enjoying a much faster connection.

Incidentally I was having problems logging in and discovered that coping and pasting was causing the problem so just type them and see what happens.

It shouldn't have affected your wireless connection, Rick, which is on the LAN side of the router. Do you have the machines set up to use DHCP etc?

all sorted. Needed to set up a new WEP key and its all good. Going to set up emails etc and make sure the mrs can connect also

What make and model of router do you have?

It's identical to WEP, just tick the WPA box instead on the router, then reconnect each machine to the network, entering the required password (twice). Once you've successfully connected, you don't have to do this again, it's a bit like Bluetooth pairing.

WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)
WPA-802.1x

I am still unsure, especially as I have windows 7 and still getting to grips with it. There are several different options to select on win7, AES or TKIP and 4 different WPA options. I'll keep trying it.

Set the exact same options on the pc/laptop as you do on the router
