Infamy!  :argh:

David, going back to the email settings, all you need is the POP3 details from your domain (1&1 is it?), and your user name and password.

Oh, and have the two Karma I owe you, though I still haven't seen the little phone icon.  ;)
Simon.

I have entered the correct settings and password..and here comes the rub..it seems it is rejecting it  :bawl:

Incoming server (POP3)   Outgoing server (SMTP)
1 and 1 Internet   pop.1and1.com   smtp.1and1.com

What else is there to do ?

Is the user name correct?  Have you tried the full email address?  It will be the same as if you were setting it up with Outlook.

Hi Simon.I don't use outlook at the moment, well only to receive, its set to 0000 as I use 1and 1...all the settings are correct and the password is correct...lets be honest and comedy free it isnt brain surgery I just followed the wizard it just wont connect to the server  :dunno:

Seems I am not alone
That seems to be about synching, I take it you entered pop3.xxxxx what ever the servers name is, some are just pop as in pop.o2.co.uk for instance mail.o2.co.uk so double check if there are any setting differences. Also sure this has been mention but your smtp setting may be that of your network provider in which case you would use authentication on the smtp side and there smtp servers possibly
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

David

Thanks Gary..yes to most of the points

which case you would use authentication on the smtp side and there smtp servers possibly

Will change this later on  :fingers:

David, 1 and 1 mail servers are pop.1and1.co.uk and smtp.1and1.co.uk or auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk if you are using authenticated mail which you will be if you have a separate email service from them.
