Has anyone come across an alleged anti virus program that calls itself SWP2009 demo  /antivirus live.

It seems to be a clever little thing as there is no trace of it in add/remove programs and unless you kill all the proccesses be ran by yourself you cant even gain access to add remove programs or anything else.

Any information anyone has on this would be greatly helpful.

Thanks

Glenn

Malwarebytes is your friend in this case, download it on another machine, then install and run malwarebytes in safe mode, delete the infected files it finds.

I use that method 4 or 5 times a month at work Colin, it's never failed me yet, but there is always a first time.

Change the name of the Malwarebytes executable to something else, too. Some Malware will detect it by name. Try calling it George. No one ever attacks a George.

Damn - I was only thinking about Brits - I forgot about that particular George

Perhaps Cyril would have been a better suggestion
