It would appear to point to the exchange. With many people off work this week, kids back from Uni etc, the net does get quite a lot busier 'domestically'. Next week, the business connections will start up again.

BT Speed Test is far more optimistic.

And curiously a different result from the BBC.

It's not that curious, every speed tester works differently, but they all use 'cheats' to simulate data transmission, the methods vary and so do the results. That's why I stick to one server on one speedtest site, unless I'm using the BT test.

Ah I see.

Things are looking ok this morning, BT Speed Test reporting 5611Kbps.

I'm having a bit of a strange problem with one site. I can't access http://web.aqa.org.uk/qual/gce/humanities/gov_politics_materials.php?id=10&prev=10 and 'Down for everyone or just me.com' report it's down, however others (on other ISPs) can access it. I'm wondering wether this has something to do with IDNet.

Is it down for any one else here?

Doesn't work for me, Dan.

Works fine for me from work.

IDNet isn't your ISP at work if I recall some of your other posts correctly Glenn?

Does not work for me either, have you tried OpenDNS to see if that helps?

I know, I was confirming that it is not an issue with the site

Sorry I didn't phrase my last post very well. I though that was what you were doing, just double checking you were indeed using another ISP. Thanks for checking.  :)

OpenDNS didn't help, however the site is working with normal DNS settings now. :thumb:
