slightly off topic now but I have this new printer and have some ink cartridges from one I had before which are no use to me now. They were for an Epson CX5400 and are Black,Cyan,Magenta and Yellow. They are Think brand bought from Choice Stationery, have never been used, are unopened and have an expire date of 2011.

They replace the original cartridge numbers T0321,T0422,T0423,T0424 repectively.Free to a good home if any one can use them

:)

this new printer I have,HP Photosmart Premium, lovely printer, quiet when printing, gives great results, photos too.....but why does it do all that clunking and grinding after every print  :dunno:

Rik?  do you know?  I know you have this model too.Does it need to do it. I found the same with the one ive returned to my daughter, its annoying at times.

Rik

I keep wondering that myself, Baz. My previous Photosmart didn't. Best guess? The new one uses ink tanks and a separate head, whilst the old one had the integrated head/cartridge. I would guess, therefore, that it has a cleaning action.

well now you say that Rik im sure my Epson one did a similar thing but not as often and im convinced it used ink when doing so, ok maybe just a bit but still used it.

dont see the need for it after every print, is yours the same Rik?

Rik

It is, Baz, and Epsons used to do something similar, but they were terrible for clogging up. Certainly, ink usage is higher on my Photosmart Premium compared to the 2410.
