Weather affecting connection

You might check diagnostics, but I suspect it's not there. I don't have any information on the v5, sorry. Hopefully, someone will be along shortly.

If no-one can help ask support in the morning, they will be able to see any drops and errors.

net91 I'd recommend downloading and running routerstats. that should give you more in depth stats. for example these are the stats for my downstream connection...

Noise Margin:     30.4  dB
Connection Rate:  5213  Kbps
Line Attenuation: 15.5  dB
Power:            0.0   dBm
Max Rate:         23004 Kbps

SF:               12804551
SF Errors:        0
Reed Solomon:     1459718912
RS Corrected:     894
RS Un-Corrected:  0
HEC:              0
Errored Seconds:  3
Severe ES:        2

Interleave Depth: 96
Bitswaps:         2

Very few errors as you can see, so I'm hoping that when support reset my noisemargin it will remain stable at 17500kbps as it always did.

This could be it for v5??

In the browser, enter the address: http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=debug

Then, (assuming Windows XP) :

Start -> Run. Type cmd <OK>

In the Command Window that opens, type telnet 192.168.0.1 <enter>

At the # prompt, type adsl info <enter>

Or try "ifconfig stats" If no use try-- Routerstats as Punch says.

No, that didn't work either. I've downloaded routerstats.

This is the information I've got;

Noise Margin:     9.5  dB
Connection Rate:  6016  Kbps
Line Attenuation: 35.5  dB

Corrected Errors:
 HEC   : 80
 FEC   : 18537
 CRC   : 0

Uncorrected Errors:
 LOS   : 0
 SES   : 0
 ES    : 0

Is this within normal parameters?

Sorry that neither worked.  :'( I would have thought those errors were low (obviously its time dependent) the FEC show interleave is working if nothing else.

All i can say is im glad my cable is underground all the way from the exchange to my house  :laugh: so it never drops !!!!!!

Mine is too, last month the section from my house to the manhole cabinet had to be replaced. They dug straight through the grass out the front of my house, it took 2 days to replace it.

Bt helpful as ever.  But i suppose they have to have something to do allday!!!! How about flipping finishing the wbc upgrade on the exchange????
