Migrating to 02 LLU

I've been a relatively happy customer of IDNet for the last eighteen months, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to justify spending £25 per month on Broadband when I can get a much faster connection with O2 LLU for £10 per month.  Adding to that a potential cashback of £100 for joining plus two months free connection, this means a net cost for Broadband of £0 for the first year.

However, I'm struggling to find what notice period I need to give IDNet.  Rather than a fixed period, it seems to be based on the current invoice period.  Is this correct?

If this is the case and my current period runs to the 18th, I guess I will need to hang on requesting my MAC code until towards the end of the month.

It would also be useful to understand how quickly do IDNet provide the MAC?  Is this by return or do they take the full 5 days?

Although I may not have been a regular poster here, I've been a regular lurker and I'll miss you.  Thanks for your help.

Termination on notice
Either IDNet or the Customer may terminate the Agreement at any time by service of notice in writing upon the other party, such notice to take effect at the end of the current payment period. Upon termination of the Agreement under this Clause, we shall refund to you an appropriate portion of any periodic fees paid by you for the use of the Service. Where a Customer has paid for a full year in-advance and is on a Monthly contract and terminates before the paid year has completed then the refund will apply for those full months of paid Service not received.

I believe your MAC will be given on request by return.

I might be going daft in my old age, but I don't think it wins any plain English awards.

Does this mean if I migrate out after my current payment period (ending January 18th) IDNet will refund me for any unused days from the following payment period?

More than happy to provide some feedback once I go.  I'll have plenty of time to regret it if I think I've made the wrong move, since I'll be on a 12 month contract.  Oooh Errr. ???

Surely you won't have paid for the following payment period so you won't get any refund.  I paid for a year and then left half way through the year and got the rest of the year refunded.  I think that's what it's talking about.

Basically, you have to give 30 days notice, Jay, so that's what you'll be charged for, even if you migrate before that period ends.

That's what I thought.  However when I went looking through the T&Cs I couldn't see any mention of 30 days notice.  This is when I got down to trying to interpret the 'contractualese'.  :-\

If you look at the packages, Jon, they stipulate a one month contract.
