Hi

do I actually get an off peak allowance with "Home Lite"

regards     Alan

Rik

No, it's only Max, SuperMax and the WBC packages that have off peak, Alan (though the RSS feed and portal will still report peak and off-peak usage).

Hi again,

I was informed by bt some weeks ago that my exchange was now adsl2+ enabled.I made inquiries at Idnet and received this reply "your exchange has been enabled
and the service is available to you. Please advise if you would like to
change to this service? There is a one-off regrade fee of ?11 + VAT or
this is waived if you decide to change from monthly billing to annual
billing. You will also need to ensure your router is ADSL2+ compatible
and has the latest version firmware."
I did not pursue it however because there were indications in the forums that there was not much to be gained by a change over.

I feel now though that in view of my increased bandwidth usage I should re- consider this offer.
I would be grateful for advice on what the latest firmware is for my netgear dg834gt router and where to obtain it,as I believe it is necessary, should I make the change over.
Many thanks for your help,

regards    Alan

http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2328 If you go into downloads and tick the box you will see them all, I would take a note of your current firmware. There seem to be DHCP server issues with later firmwares and you may find that one works better than the others. The upgrade is fairly straightforward it is suggested you use IE for this task, if you back up your configuration prior to this it is very easy to restore your previous settings after the upgrade.
