Hi,
    I need a new motherboard for my x2 4200
Wondering if this would do me good? http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=18947285274&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=98337

any other ideas would be helpful - need pci-e, socket 939 and i think ill go for SLI

Stick with the ASUS there m8.

I loooove the heatsink  8) 8)

ASUS are the biz when it comes to dual core support and SLI - well ... only if you are a

  ;D REALLY SERIOUS GAMER  ;D

I use the A8N deluxe for my X2 4400 and have had zero issues with it. For this reason alone I would go with ASUS again.  I have had nowt but trouble off other manufactures, particularly if they use the VIA chipsets, but I like the nForce chipsets.

Note: always check the website for latest ASUS drivers though - they are updated so fast they can be two or three revisions ahead of the version in the box.

which graphics card would u go for mate? £150 max
i was looking at BFG 7800gt 256mb on ebuyer for around £150 but iw as wondering wot would u recommend?

Xbandito

Hmm now me personally, I would not go for SLI I would go for an ATI setup...  ;)

But in the Nvidia set up I would use -:
XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI from overclockers £146

I'm with Xbandito on this one - I've always preferred ATI cards anyway.  Graphics cards are a bit like women - they're a very personal choice.

I wouold personally push the boat out a touch and buy this

Connect 3d X1800 GTO 256mb GDDR3 DVI-I VIVO PCI-E

from Ebuyer at £156 but that's me and my ATI prejudice. ;D

i think ati and nvidia arent really that different but i know where i stand with nvidia as i understand all the gt and numbers and stuff. also i have researched a lot more about sli boards and they seem to perform better. so that 7600 u were on about seems to fit the criteria. ill go look now  ;)

mrapoc

I HAVE DECIDED  ;D
Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe
XFX 7600gt 256mb XXX edition
Amd x2 4200

Hmm now if I had your money I would have gone for this set-up -:

DFI LanParty UT CFX3200-DR RD580 Crossfire
HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core FX60   ;) :P

btw....not a bad setup for a "cough"Nvidia"cough" machine   :P

mrapoc

fx 60? that £200 more than everything put together  :o but i like ur choice there
i would also like to comment on your ATI fanboyism  :-\
