I'm trying to use Windows 7 for the first time to upload to my webspace. I am a bit confused over what I need to type for the FTP server to connect to IDnet. Is is "    ftp.idnet.com" or do I need to put in my username into the address?
I'm using "Map Network Drive" then the options to "connect to webspace" which AFAIK is Win7 version of setting up an FTP.

I'll happily use filezilla, but don't want to mess about in that if I'm still typing the address wrong.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

login to https://www.idnet.net/secure/ and then on the left menu select Broadband >settings,

On the next page select the Free Extras Tab and then Web Space,

That gives all the information about your webspace, use the Publishing URL data in your FTP program.

Did that. I get a "this folder does not appear to be valid" statement. That's before windows has even tried to access it. So something about the formatting is wrong. I've copy/pasted it so it's not a typo.
It seems to be expecting "ftp://ftp.username" or "ftp://ftp.idnet.com". I can try filezilla tomorrow. Just though native access in Windows would be a lot quicker for dropping in pics and stuff to post in seconds. :/

[Edit]
Fixed it! Read the (really) small print underneath. It says "Publishing URL can be used with most webpage publishing programs and some ftp clients. Some programs however will require the ftp server, username and password to be specified seperately*." I originally thought I could only login via the address given. But as the pages says I can just try the FTP site, I did. Then it prompts for password. Great! I'll upload my digital paintings, and atrocious attempts at HTML and JAVA programming.

*spelling mistake IDnets! :D
