What would happen to my line if i asked idnet to remove the 8 meg limit on my line as im stuck with adsl1, line is trying hard to run faster, currently running the full 7150kbps through put on the line. Speed testers showing it spiking up around 18 meg mark.

Could this be removed and what might happen?

Glenn

Adam, ADSLMax is only spec'd to 8mb, so support would not be able to do anything for you, regarding making the connection faster. The only alternatives for a faster connection are; ADSL2+, LLU or cable.

The spikes in the speed testers are most likely due to your AV software.

Speedtest.net tester is famous for doing that, I have seen my line supposedly running at 250meg  ;D ;D ;D

BT also see this oddity at the exchange when checking peoples lines, sudden unexplained bursts of impossible speeds registered and then gone again.

thanxs guys that explains the sudden spikes!!!

Me fink's bt should get there behinds into gear upgrade my exchange.

The first llu will be ready around 25th may, and it's talktalk.

Already had a letter from them saying they are putting equipment in the exchange. Will they be running upto 24meg speeds even if bt has upgraded the exchange yet?

Dorset boy 250 meg, like the sounds of that :eek4:

Lance

If they put their pwn equipment in the exchange, it doesn't matter what BT have done with theirs :)
