This is a really long shot.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of a telnet client called Lucky 2.1.1.3? This was a freeware telnet client written by a chap called Olmer in Russia. It was released in 2005 and sadly the web address just gives a 404 error. All the download links I can find via Google are redirected to the Russian site as non of the other sites actually host the file.

It's quite a small file at just over 100 meg.

Like I say - a really long shot.

Ta.

Ooops. Sorry!

Have tried a few torrent sites too but all roads seem to lead to Rome on this one.

JB

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help.

My bad, the file is just over 100K not 100M. Sorry!

All roads lead to Rome on this one. Putty is a very good utility which I use all the time, but for a friend with little knowledge of any unix commands, the graphical interface of this program would have been useful.

I guess if nobody has this sitting in their archives it will be impossible to track down. I even visited a few Chinese sites, which usually come up trumphs, and looked on torrent, but no luck.

Thanks all, again.

JB.

I tried a few sites as well without any luck but I did notice that an email address (Wurdalak15@yandex.ru) appears on one of them here, might be worth a try although if the site is down the email won't necessarily go through of course.

Once again, thanks for the input.

Gizmo71, he really needs a graphical interface which is why I thought the Lucky software may suit. What he wants to do is transfer files back and forward to a media player which uses Linux. It's a long story so I won't bore you with all the details. The media player has a telnet server built in but no SSH.

Steve, I thought of WinSCP as I use it myself but I don't believe it supports telnet, just SFTP, SCP and FTP as a last resort.

I'll keep looking. Failing that I might have to spend some time teaching him some basic shell commands  :dunno:
