Can anyone actually play the song on here? It tells me I need to enable flash, so I click on the link and it installs flash. I reload the page and it still says I need to enable flash? All other sites that use flash seem to work fine. I'm confused :(

Win7/Opera 10.50 runs no problem.  Sounds good too. ;D

D-Dan

I'm listening to it now - but I had to click the MP3 link. Got the same message re flash and java.

Steve
Have I lost my way?

This post doesn't necessarily represent even my own opinions, let alone anyone else's

Baz

in FF no in IE yes but theres an MP3 or OGG download link just under the bar

or what Dan said

Inkblot

Working fine for me (Win7/64 & IE8)

There are downloadable MP3/OGG files, not listened to see if they are the same quality but might be worth trying.

Edit: Thought I was going to be the 1st to reply, guess I really do need to brush up my typing skills!

Rik

Have you clicked on the MP3 link below the red 'install' banner, Niall?

Working here.

Niall

No I hadn't clicked the link, I was more curious as to the reason why this site doesn't work properly now :( I've just updated java (what happened to java automatically updating?) and I've got one plug in that doesn't want to update it would seem. I'll turn off superantispyware and try to install shockwave thingy again.

Oh and that website is hosted in the US I think. Most of the day the site takes aaaaaaaaaaaages to load. Strangely though, via my iPhone it loads immediately no matter what time of day.

Java can be set to check for updates monthly.... you should have jusched.exe in Task Manager.

Rik

I received the warning, Niall, but simply clicked the link and it played. I'm not sure it's an active warning, ie that it's checking your system, rather it's just a sort of 'system requirements' written badly.

Normally there's a bar that records plays. I've installed the latest director plugin but the check keeps telling me it's out of date. Maybe I've got a setting somewhere turned off with a new update

On the web page there is a play bar, I just clicked the "Play" button and off it went.

What OS are you running?

Niall

Yeah the play bar is missing, that's where the text saying I need to enable flash is. I've no idea why it's suddenly started doing this. The only thing I can think of are the recent flash updates.

Same for me on Opera 10.50 :thumb: This Opera is great! (So far!)

Niall

Oh the song is by my mate by the way, levels etc done by my sisters other half.

Still can't get this sodding thing to work though!

Best to just un install Adobe Flash and use CCleaner ,then install the latest version from scratch.

Niall

Well I've done all that now and still I can't see the play bar. I uninstalled everything Adobe related and once again have all the updated. The strange thing is the shockwave director plugin keeps telling me it's out of date when I check on the mozilla plugin update page, but it's the very latest version. I've no idea why it's doing that.

Oh I forgot to add that this happens in IE8 too! Something somewhere is broken!

I think I've found out what it is. NOD32 seems to have thought that the last install of java was dodgy and has blocked it, so on installing the new version it hasn't executed it properly, so the java side of things wasn't working, which ties in with the flash not working!

Only took 2 hours to sort out!

Nope, that doesn't sort it either. Something is blocking java/flash from working and I've got no idea what. Flash itself is working, I should add, as I can see normal flash based things like the BBC site and Youtube etc. It seems that it's a combination of flash & java that isn't working.

Well it works under Opera. I have no idea what-so-ever why it's not working under Firefox or IE. All settings are correct, both browsers have plugins installed so I can't see why it'd work under Opera and not the other two browsers! Argh!

Not working here with FF 3.6 but works fine with Safari 4.0.4, maybe its the way the site is coded  :dunno:

Works for me on IE but not FF. :-\

I'm wondering if it's related to how Java installs. I've found some info on the Java site dating back to when Firefox 3.6 was released stating you must install the new version of Java before installing Firefox 3.6. Thinking back I'm certain I did it the other way around, which could be why I'm seeing a problem. As I don't want to uninstall Firefox completely and re-add all my saved passwords, download add ons & plugins, etc I guess I'll just have to use Opera for that site now. I really don't like Opera either :(

I'm assuming that if this is actually the problem, the same may be applicable for IE8, although that was out before Firefox 3.6 so god knows!

Don't you use the FEBE addin for FF? Niall, it does a complete backup of your profile including addins, save passwords, etc. if you reinstall FF you just need to install the Febe addin and then you can restore your profile and you've got everything back as it was originally.

In Firefox and IE8 I get "Enable Flash and Java" ,these are enabled and I have no issue on any other site I visit, I reckon there is an error in that web page not all these PC's.

Rik

Niall, can you grab a screen shot of what you're seeing, then we can tell whether it's different to the rest of us.

In Safari I see a play/pause style bar Rik, I what version of FF are you running? It could be the site is not coded for changes in FF 3.6 which would make sense rather than all the PC's being wrong, if someone with FF 3.5 has the same issues it would narrow things down a bit.

I think I blame the website even works on the Mac with Opera and Safari as intended with the play bar.I get the same message as the rest on FF3.6

FF3.6, Gary.
Same here, I have a fresh install as well with a new profile so thats not the cause, I disabled Ad Block Plus and still no change, If someone cares to check it out with 3.5 it would be interesting, otherwise who knows, the web is full of glitches  :dunno:

I am inclined to think its the site or at this time a FF 3.6 bug maybe, 3.6 has known issues with Flash I know that, it has been reported on the Mozilla forums, and has crashed once on a site with a lot of Flash content for me (Sony site, I lust after the KDL-NX803) but I do think its the site myself.

Yeah that's what I did yesterday, but in order for the site to record the plays, it has to be through the play bar that I can't see. The site is more of a validation for hardwork for the people that post there so I think this is a big problem for them. The site itself is slow at the best of times due to it being hosted on a tiny server in the middle of nowhere :D
