I have a 2700 but live in a rural area at the end of a very long line! My router stats say the following...

   Down            Up
Rate:   1376 kbs   448 kbs
Max Rate:   1376 kbs   560 kbs
Noise Margin:   8.0 dB   9.0 dB
Attenuation:   63.0 dB   31.5 dB
Output Power:   16.5 dBm   12.3 dBm

Protocol:   G.DMT Annex A
Channel:   Interleaved
DSLAM Vendor Information   Country: {46336} Vendor: {TSTC} Specific: {0 }
ATM PVC:   0/38

Rate Cap:   1376 kbs
Attenuation @ 300kHz:   63.0 dB
Uncanceled Echo:   -13.7 dB   Ok
VCXO Frequency Offset:   2.7 ppm   Ok
Final Receive Gain:   34.5 dB   Ok
Impulse Noise Comp. Tones:   0   Ok
Excessive Impulse Noise:   0   Ok

The actual attenuation is somewhat higher...

DSL Line (Wire Pair):   Line 1 (inner pair)
Downstream Rate Cap:   8128 kbps
Downstream Atten. at 300kHz:   71.9 dB
Uncancelled Echo:   -13.7 dB   Ok
VCXO Frequency Offset:   2.7 ppm   Ok
Final Rx Gain:   34.5 dB   Ok
Impulse Noise Comp. Tones:   0   Ok
Excessive Impulse Noise:   0   Ok
Impulse noise protection:   1.33
Delay of latency path:   8.00 ms

Do my connection figures look reasonable? i get 1meg throughput..

Thanks

K

Take a look at the Kitz guide, it shows how to remove the bell wire. Also with a detuned MW radio trace the cabling from the master socket to the router, if the white noise increases in volume, noise is being generated around that area, sources include, PSU's computer equipment etc.

Hi Kielty

Try the noise reduction and diagnostic ideas that Glenn suggests, but it looks to me like you have a very long line, and those figures are reasonable.

What  firmware are you using? some firmwares runs at 8dB SNR rather than at 6

Thanks, i have the ring wire removed and the router is plugged directly into the master socket via an openreach filtered adsl faceplate. firmware is 6.1.1.48.1

kinmel

V6.1.1.48.1 works at 6dB, so that is fine.  You are probably getting the best speed possible on such a long line.
