Evening all,
Anyone here find they are having trouble sending email to anyone on Yahoo mail over an IDNET SMTP connection? for obvious reasons, i have omitted the recipients address, but here's the reply I got back this morning for a message sent Saturday:

This is the mail system at host gremlin.idnet.net.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message.

                   The mail system

<removed@yahoo.co.uk>: delivery temporarily suspended: host

Messages from 212.69.40.38 temporarily deferred due to user complaints -

Thought for a moment it was my mail server's that been banned until I realised it was IDNET's one on IP 212.69.40.38. Anyway to get this fixed? Yahoo says it's temporary, but it's been 3 days now (Sent one 2 moments ago that has not arrived neither).

Also, out of my own curiosity - How does this happen?
A signature, would usually go here. You've just wasted 2 secconds of your life looking for it...

Quote from: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/errors/421-ts01.htmlWhen you see this error message in your SMTP logs (where x.x.x.x is your IP address), it's because of either of the following:

    * We are seeing unusual traffic from your IP address.
    * Email from your mail server is generating complaints from Yahoo! Mail users.

Please note that this is typically a temporary situation, and we encourage you to retry sending email to our servers approximately four hours after you encounter this error message.

If you see this error consistently over a 48-hour period, please fill out this form to give us enough information that we can actively pursue the issue.

When you fill out the form, make sure you select Getting deferrals due to user complaints from the Subject pull-down menu and include the following information:

    * Your email address
    * The domain that is getting the error message
    * The IP address of the mail server that is getting the error message
    * The complete error message from your logs

A Yahoo! Technical Support Agent will contact you via email by to resolve the issue.

Yeah, filled that in this morning... No reply from Yahoo as of yet, and it is still not working.

Supprised no one else bought this up. Yahoo mail is pretty large - Chances are we all know someone who uses it as their primary email... As it's IDNET's server blocked, would they not contact Yahoo to get their mail server taken off a block list rather than a customer having to do it? I know what it all means, but I bet some customers wont have a clue what an IP address or MX server is if they come up against it...

I doubt it is monitored, give them a call in the morning, they should be able to help you resolve the problem

I can send mail from the Idnet Webmail system to yahoo.com accounts.

I can't test the  idnet smtp server for you because I use my own mail servers.

test for yourself using your usual idnet email address and password at https://webmail.idnet.com/
