Thought I'd give you all a bit of an update ...

Currently no improvement at all in speed (if anything, it's got worse) so I've asked support to switch me back onto the 8meg service which will happen overnight tonight.

So - keep your fingers crossed for an improvement tomorrow ...

Will keep you all updated.

Rik

Thanks for that. Sorry it hasn't worked for you - it seems that, once you reach the realms of 63db attenuation that ADSL2+ isn't a guarantee of extra speed, quite the opposite. :(

It seems that way - but at least the move might stablise the line. And, of course, if it works we'll know for the next person with a long line that the 24meg service might not work.

Rik

We already do. :) Alan (Kinmel) has reverted and immediately improved his speeds. So  :fingers: for you.

Yep - same as Alan. Switch back and I've synced today at 1728/800 - result. It's a little slower than I was getting previously but would imagine with a little stability it'll creep back up.

The other thing worth noting is I'm getting a lot less errors (cell header errors/loss of cell deliniation) on my 2700 compared to with the 24meg service.

Rik

That's the difference I've noticed on WBC, the error count is higher, though, luckily for me, not so high as to cause problems.
