From the list NameChanger- very useful app for batch changing the names of files . I've been using it to change some music file name formats replacing a underscored space with a space.

Just been browsing the App Store and I noticed that Apple Remote Desktop 3.4 is available for £45 which is a bargain compared with version 3.3 @ £417, not sure whether this is a dumbed down version or not but the reviews are very positive.

I downloaded an app called AppCleaner. I thought "this is good" as it removes everything to do with the app including the .dmg

Wasn't till i tried to empty the trash can a couple of "logs" had been removed which are saying they are locked and in use. I've unlocked them and tried to remove but no joy.

Anyone got any ideas on how to a) remove them or the easy way out b) put the back where they were an ignore them?

You could try booting into safe mode and seeing if you can delete them then. TBH I  avoid cleaning apps tried onyx once and it messed up SL a bit. The Macs take pretty good care of themselves really with background launchd tasks and logfile roll overs etc to keep things clean, a few plist's left laying around does no harm really either.

Have you got a time machine backup or a cloned drive image? If so and safe mode fails you could go back to before you did this or replace what you removed with time machine if you know what that was and where it was removed from. Remember Lion is new and many apps may have issues with Lion for a while, Lion after all is having issues with itself right now too  point releases need bug fixes as do apps for them.

Ahh yeah, time machine would be a good bet. There was nothing wrong with the app i tried to remove i was just testing out this appcleaner.  Should have avoided it to be fair.

Its a great weather app that I leave running in full screen on lion so i can just flick to it if needed. Also has a web app for the ipad if anyone is interested.
