I've just discovered this useful little free application from the publishers of Ccleaner for getting information about all your installed hardware etc. Speccy

Rik

No, it's in the spare bedroom, Baz. I don't watch anything, I just listen to pipe bands, they make me pedal faster.  ;D

Oh. I know of everything in my pc. As I put it there!  ;D
I'm also quite obsessive in checking everything before I buy it. After myself (and the family mainly) buying things that are no good, due to lack of research, I've learnt my lesson.
Helpful program non the less though.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Glenn

I just replaced the stock cooling fan on my i7 cpu with a Zalman CNPS 10X Performa, it's dropped the temps by 25C.

SIW as posted by Noreen gives very detailed information about your PC.

I understand the i7 runs pretty hot anyway when compared to the C2D and the chap who looks after Realtemp has suggested the stock cooler is not adequate.

I was using Realtemp last night, seems like a useful little program.

My old AMD athalon use to run in the 80s to 90s. Very hot. Not sure what mine is now... (checks) ... System says 43 not under load.
This pc's Phenom 2 is about 6 months old. When it's approaching a year, I may upgrade the fans, and try overclocking, to lengthen it's lifespan. In power output at least. It will shorten it's length of life though! :O

pctech

for monitoring of fan speeds and temps I use Speedfan

Does also allow you to vary the fan speed.
