I understand the i7 runs pretty hot anyway when compared to the C2D and the chap who looks after Realtemp has suggested the stock cooler is not adequate.

Technical Ben

My old AMD athalon use to run in the 80s to 90s. Very hot. Not sure what mine is now... (checks) ... System says 43 not under load.
This pc's Phenom 2 is about 6 months old. When it's approaching a year, I may upgrade the fans, and try overclocking, to lengthen it's lifespan. In power output at least. It will shorten it's length of life though! :O
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

for monitoring of fan speeds and temps I use Speedfan

Does also allow you to vary the fan speed.
