Hi. I've just migrated from O2 (off their standard ADSL service) onto your ADSL2+ service. Wow.. the increase in speed is awesome!! Even at peak times, things like iPlayer don't buffer like they did on O2. It was going so well, but I'm getting a fair number of reconnects (with the BT router saying to restart my browser), from what I gather this is a resync? I guess I'm also currently in the 10 day training period, but should it be restarting like link like this?

The router I'm using is a BT 2700HGV with firmware version 5.29.107.12 that's been unlocked to work on any network.

Here are a couple of screenshots which seem to be relevant after I read a few other posts reporting similar issues - some of the stuff about noise margins and things like that were a bit beyond me ;)

If you can shed some light on this that'd be great.

Many thanks,

Matt.

Hi Matt,  :welc:  :karma:

Sorry, I can't help with the tech stuff, but someone will be along soon who can.  :)

I am guessing the retrains are due to noise, you've got a noise margin of 6db on retrain and I think noise bursts are dropping the connection. We know adsl2+ is more susceptible to the affects of noise due to the higher frequencies  used for the carrier signal. You are in a training period so things should settle down however this will probably be with a higher margin and lower sync rate. Ensure your as noise free as you can be your side of the BT box i.e remove the ring wire, avoid extension cables, move DECT phones away . If you've got a sky box try double filtering. If no improvement try the test socket on the NTE 5 faceplate if you've got one.

Hi Matt and welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:

I agree with Steve, give it a few days to settle. Interleaving looks to be on, so the next thing I would expect to see would be an increase in your target noise margin to 9db. That will cost you about 500k of speed, but could be enough to give you stability.
