There is one web page that keeps giving me 'Page Not Available' errors when I browse to it:

http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/IDEADEV/Maia+EAP

All the other web sites I use are fine, and this one used to be available not so long ago. Other people tell me they can access it, no problem.

Is it my setup or IDNET (i.e. can people here access it) ?

Tina

I can access it just fine

Lance

Works fine for me too. Have you cleared your history, flushed your DNS or tried a different brower. Also, are you using opendns or IDNet DNS?

I'm using IDNET DNS. I've tried a different browser, I haven't flushed my history (I want to keep it), and I haven't flushed my DNS (how?).

I can't reach it (or ping it) on IDNet DNS.

Hmm, can't reach it with OpenDNS either :dunno:

It's odd. You've a IP address from a different block to dlorde so its not a simple IP address ban.

Curiouser and curiouser... at least it's not just me. I just tried via my Windows Home Server and couldn't get to it from there. Although I can reach it OK from my PC at work (over VPN).

Bill

@Lance- what's the IP address of the site? If we can't reach it that way, something is very odd...

I can't ping it Mac network utility cannot resolve it either, same with traceroute but I can access the website via IDNet and OpenDNS how odd.Thats why I tried a DNS lookup elsewhere with no result.

Thanks, but it made no difference.

The URL is of a safe site  - it's the download page of the latest beta release (Early Access Program) for the JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA Java development environment - (JetBrain's IntelliJ is the leading commercial Java development environment).

For some odd reason it has become inaccessible to some people.

Still not working here this morning.

Can't reach it on that IP either, but the address bar immediately shows http://confluence.jetbrains.net/ so RDNS working?

Thought I'd already posted this...

traceroute confluence.jetbrains.net
traceroute to confluence.jetbrains.net (184.73.234.255), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

Where did that IP come from, and what happened to the steps in the middle, eg my router?

If I use the IP given earlier (that resolves correctly in the address bar):

Weirder and weirder.

Especially as the analysis shows zero errors.  I can access the site from either IP (Russia or USA). The ping/tracert timing out is no issue as they have probably disallowed them to prevent DDOS issues. The Amazon AWS server is used for dns and is working correctly.

Why some people cannot access it is very odd.

Have there been any developments with this strange problem?

I've tried numerous DNS servers and can't access the site from here through IDNet, although I've had no problem from work (different ISP).

If it helps, the main site, www.jetbrains.net is accessible, but www.jetbrains.net/confluence redirects to http://confluence.jetbrains.net, and it seems to be this that is inaccessible.

Should I raise it as a support issue?

Rik

Well, all three work for me, so I'd wonder about local issues, eg firewall.
Rik

DorsetBoy

Which browser are you using?

www.jetbrains.net/confluence redirects to http://confluence.jetbrains.net

1) They are using an http address, not a www. and 2) the redirect is to a sub domain ,so they have probably moved the pages to a new folder.

Your browser settings or firewall may be preventing access to http addresses.

Glenn

Works ok here too

Could be that IPs have been spoofed and added to a block list on the server.

dlorde

Well, I've tried with Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox, and I've tried turning off security and disabling the firewall and changing the DNS, but no joy yet.

Thanks for the responses though.

Hey thanks Rik - that worked a treat!   8-)

Looks like my IP address is blocked... but why only that site?  ???

Oh well, I only need it occasionally, so going indirect is no great inconvenience.
