Netgear DG834G Facia lights

Hi, guys and gals, have just noticed that the green trick on the front of my netgear dg834 v3 is not on, download speeds seem 2 be fine, do i need this is 2 be on? or is it fine off ??  any help gratefully recieved

The green tick I think only comes on when the router is initialising, so it's not lit in normal use.
