I just received notification of your post, and, as I check every five minutes, the delay could be simply that.

I noticed it on the sent and received timestamps... which now seem back to normal.

We are having no obvious problems with email at the moment, however it seems Google may be having problems.

I sent a test message 5 minutes ago from my Google mail account and it has not yet arrived at our MX servers (first entry point for mail on our network) yet but a test message sent from my Hotmail account arrived in seconds.

Is there actually percentages/ratios on the amount of nonsense/spam you filter vs actual emails you forward? I am guessing they are not pretty.
