If you use several different clients or have friends/contacts with different messaging systems
Trillian may be of use to you.

Only one application on your machine for multiple chat/messaging systems.

There are two versions,free and paid,the paid version has more features including webcam.

Quite possibly. I dread to think of the cost now though, it was £300 back in 1980 - being a small Clan, the tartan has to be hand-woven...
